The Havikstraat in Utrecht was the street where the composer spent his early childhood. The five parts of this first clarinet quartet are musical memories of this street and of the neighborhood (Bird Neighbourhood) in which the street used to be.
The work was premiered in 1990 by the clarinet quartet ‘En Garde’ of the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy
De Havikstraat in Utrecht was de straat waar de componist zijn vroege jeugd doorbracht. De vijf deeltjes van dit eerste klarinet kwartet zijn muzikale herinneringen aan deze straat en aan de buurt (Vogelenbuurt) waarin de straat lag.
Het werk werd in 1990 in première gebracht door het klarinet kwartet ‘En Garde’ van de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine.
